Vanilla Old Fashioned

Ingredients

  • 60 ml bourbon or rye whiskey
  • 10 ml Simply Syrups Vanilla Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Orange or lemon peel for garnish
  • Ice

instructions

  1. In a mixing glass, combine 60 ml of bourbon or rye whiskey, 10 ml of Vanilla Syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
  2. Fill the mixing glass with ice.
  3. Stir the mixture well for about 20-30 seconds to chill and dilute the cocktail to your preference.
  4. Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with ice.
  5. Express the oils from a strip of orange or lemon peel over the cocktail by holding it over the glass and giving it a gentle twist to release the aromatic oils. Optionally, you can run the peel around the rim of the glass for added aroma.
  6. Drop the twist of peel into the glass as a garnish.
  7. Serve and enjoy your Vanilla Old Fashioned!
